The Royal Ball

I still do not know exactly what this event was for, but i felt like I was at a wedding reception/prom. My friend Michelle invited me to a Christmas Ball that was hosted by the British Club. We got our hair done at a local hairdresser, in which you don't need an appointment, you just walk in and they do your hair. So Mohammad washed, dried, and curled my hair. He used this curling iron that I swear I saw on a field trip in 5th grade when we visited an old Victorian house. He rested it over a flame, and then would pick it up and curl a couple of pieces, and let it heat up again. After 40 minutes, I had a lion's mane (actually I looked like my friend Sam this one day when her hair took over). The whole process took maybe 1 1/2 hours and cost me $8.00 (40 Egyptain Pounds).

Once at the ball, we socialized for awhile and then had a 3 course, traditional British Christmas dinner. Shortly after, the dancing began...I did not expect to see so many people passionately sing and dance to the Y.M.C.A while in Egypt.
